May is ALS Month

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive disease affecting nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Motor neurons are affected which reach from the brain to spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles in the body. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initial and control muscle movement is lost. It is a terrible disease that talks away all function and life. The incidence of ALS is higher in Athletes and Military Veterans.

Awareness is key to our goal of ending ALS forever.  We know with more awareness, funding will come.  The more people know about ALS, the more they get involved, and the more they support ALS advocacy and research.

But ALS Awareness Month is really all about you. Without your help, we won’t be able to raise awareness. We need you to spread the word, letting everyone you know why ALS is important and why they should become involved in fighting the disease.

So we’re making it easy for you with resources and ideas you can use to help spread the word!  Use your social media, your email address, and your voice to help fight ALS with us!
